On Saturday, March 20, a border guard in Riga provided assistance to a person who was involved in a road accident.
On Saturday morning, an official of the Operational Management Board of the National Coordination Centre of the State Border Guard, while driving from the place of employment in Riga (moving from Lubānas Street towards Krasta Street), noticed a man lying on the roadway. The border guard immediately stopped his car. Upon finding that the man was conscious, the border guard phoned for an Emergency Medical Service (EMS), as well as the State Police. As the victim told, he was hit by a car that left the scene.
Until the arrival of the State Police officials the border guard carried out road traffic regulation and direction of transport to the road-side, as well as later, as an eyewitness, provided evidence regarding the road accident to officials of the State Police.
