On Thursday, March 13, at the “Riga” Airport Border Control Point, border guards detected two Russian citizens who presented forged travel documents.
During a check in the departure sector of non-Schengen terminal at “Riga” Airport, border guards detected two Russian citizens departing for Switzerland, who presented to border guards forged Slovenian passports. During the interview, the Russian citizens explained that they had paid 40,000 euro for Slovenian documents to a company that, for a fee, helped them complete the documents to obtain Slovenian citizenship, and that they did not know that the documents were forged. The persons were prohibited from leaving the country.
According to the first part of Section 275 of the Criminal Law criminal proceedings were initiated. After completing all necessary criminal procedural actions, the case will be sent to the Prosecutor's Office for the initiation of criminal prosecution.
