On November 29 - 30, the Chief of the State Border Guard, General Guntis Pujāts, participated in the 24th International Conference of Border Guard Authorities organized by the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (FRONTEX) in Warsaw (Poland).
During the conference, the leaders of Phase 9 of the Border Management Program in Central Asia (BOMCA 9) met with representatives of Central Asian Border Guard Units from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
During the conference, the parties summarized the activities of BOMCA 9, paying particular attention to the implementation of recommendations developed by BOMCA 9 experts. Plans were discussed for the remaining period of the BOMCA 9 until April 2020, as well as the priority areas for the next phase BOMCA 10, which will run from 2020 to 2025.
