From September 2-4, Chief of the State Border Guard General Guntis Pujāts participates in the tripartite meeting of senior officials of the law enforcement authorities of the Baltic States in Klaipeda organised by the Lithuanian Police Department.
During the meeting, further strategic and operational cooperation directions and development models are working out regarding the conditions of increased illegal migration pressure on the European Union's external border with Belarus. The issue of prospects for concluding cross-border cooperation agreements for rapid response and emergency management is also under consideration.
The leadership of the Latvian State Police, the Lithuanian Police Department, the Lithuanian Border Guard Service and the Estonian Police and Border Guard Board also participate in the meeting.
