From September 30 to October 2, 2022, the Chief of the State Border Guard paid a working visit to Lithuania, where he took part in festive events in honor of the anniversary of the Police Department of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania.
As part of the visit, the Chief of the State Border Guard, General G. Pujāts, met with the management of the police authorities from other EU member states, during which it was planned to discuss the security situation in our region, taking into account Russia’s aggression in Ukraine, new challenges and joint activities in the fight against them.
Taking into mind the geopolitical situation in the region, the State Border Guard has increased its collaboration with relevant services from EU member states in recent years. Cooperation with police agencies is being developed, taking into consideration the complexity of the new challenges and the necessity for joint action to fight cross - border threats, safeguard the EU’s external border, and maintain order within the country.
