On Sunday, December 1, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 5345 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 21 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 22 offenders at external borders and within the country. 8 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 4 foreigners
at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to four citizens of Moldova due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner
one citizen of Kyrgyzstan was detected at the Terehova Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The person was subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for one citizen of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 13 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Belarus, three – of Uzbekistan, two – of Lithuania, one – of Estonia, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Serbia and one – of Ukraine.
