On Saturday, December 10, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 29 offenders at external borders and within the country.

17 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused to 17 foreigners

at the Terehova, the Grebņeva, the Silene and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to eleven citizens of Moldova, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; to one citizen of Ukraine, as he was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Azerbaijan, as the purpose of entry and stay indicated by foreigner was not reliable, and to three citizens of Russia and one – of Ukraine for security reasons.

  • conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area were violated by 2 foreigners

one citizen of Ukraine and one – of Kazakhstan were detected at the Terehova and the Pāternieki Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (exceeded the duration of stay specified in a visa). Persons were subjected to administrative liability.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 citizens of Latvia

at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, two citizens of Latvia, departing for London without valid for travelling to Great Britain documents, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for one foreigner – a citizen of Ukraine.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 23 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – eight citizens of Belarus, five - of Russia, two - of Moldova, two – of Ukraine, one – of Tajikistan, one – of Uzbekistan, one - of Kirgizstan, one – of Serbia, one of Estonia and one – of Latvia.
