On Wednesday, December 14, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 39 offenders at external borders and within the country.
22 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 12 foreigners
at the Silene, the Pāternieki, the Terehova and the Grebņeva Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to four citizens of Russia and one – of Belarus, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Russia and one - Moldova, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel document; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay; to one citizen of Ukraine, as the foreigner did not have sufficient means of subsistence to visit the Schengen area countries; as well as two citizens of Russia and one – of Ukraine were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia for security reasons.
- conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area were violated by 5 foreigners
one citizen of Canada, one – of Moldova and one – of Belarus were detected at the Terehova, the Vientuļi and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (exceeded the duration of stay specified in a visa or visa-free regime, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). Persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to one citizen of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 16 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Belarus, two – of Uzbekistan, two – of Georgia, two – of Latvia, one – of Russia, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Moldova, one – of Serbia, one – of Tajikistan, one - of Ukraine and one – of Germany.
