On Thursday, December 15, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 69 offenders at external borders and within the country.

49 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 16 foreigners

at the Vientuļi, the Silene, the Pāternieki, the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to six citizens of Russia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; two citizens of Moldova, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the foreigner has already used the time period of the planned residence; two citizens of Uzbekistan, as the purpose and conditions of entry indicated by foreigners were not reliable; three more citizens of Russia and two – of Ukraine were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia for security reasons.

  • conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area were violated by 1 foreigner

one citizen of Kazakhstan was detected at the Pāternieki Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (exceeded the duration of stay specified in a visa). Person was subjected to administrative liability.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to two foreigners – one citizen of Lithuania and one – of Kameron.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 18 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Belarus, three – of Moldova, three – of Latvia, two – of Estonia, two – of Kirgizstan, one – of Russia, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Rumania and one – of Uzbekistan.
