On Sunday, December 15, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 5388 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 26 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 21 offenders at external borders and within the country. 9 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 4 foreigners
at the Grebņeva and the Pāternieki Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner has already stayed for 90 days in the territory of the Schengen area countries in the preceding 180 days; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Belarus, one – of Ukraine and one – of Moldova due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner
one citizen of Uzbekistan was detected at the Grebņeva Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The person was subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 1 citizen of Estonia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 11 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Belarus, two – of Lithuania, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of Moldova and one – of Serbia.
