On Friday, December 16, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 50 offenders at external borders and within the country.
22 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 9 foreigners
at the Port of Ventspils, the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Russia, one - of Moldova and a holder of an Irish 1951 Convention travel document, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; one citizen of Russia, as the foreigner is banned from entry into and stay in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Russia and one – of Ukraine due to security reasons.
- conditions of residence were violated by 6 foreigners
three citizens of Uzbekistan, two – of Ukraine and one – of Russia were detected at the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in a visa or visa-free regime, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). Persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to three foreigners – one citizen of Estonia, one – of Azerbaijan and one – of Belarus.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 25 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Belarus, four – of Kazakhstan, four – of Moldova, three – of Ukraine, two – of Serbia, two – of Russia, one - of Latvia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Tajikistan and one – of Uzbekistan.
