On Monday, December 16, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 5388 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 26 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 21 offenders at external borders and within the country. 20 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 5 foreigners
at the Grebņeva Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay; while at the Terehova and the Pāternieki Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner has already stayed for 90 days in the territory of the Schengen area countries in the preceding 180 days; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Moldova and one - of Belarus due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 9 foreigners
five citizen of Uzbekistan, two – of Kazakhstan, one – of Tajikistan and one – of Ukraine were detected at the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 persons
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia departing for Great Britain, whose travel document was not valid for travel to Great Britain, and one citizen of Lithuania departing for the United Arab Emirates, who was not in possession of valid travel document, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 5 persons - two citizens of Georgia, one – of Pakistan, one – of Turkey and one – of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 12 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Belarus, two – of Serbia, two – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Latvia, one – of Moldova, one – of Uzbekistan, one – of Germany and one – of Egypt.
