On Monday, December 19, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 34 offenders at external borders and within the country.
20 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused to 8 foreigners
at the Grebņeva, the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to two citizens of Uzbekistan, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay, and one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was banned from entry into and stay in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries. As well as four citizens of Russia were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. Persons were returned to the country of departure.
- conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area were violated by 2 foreigners
two citizens of Uzbekistan were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). Persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia, departing for London without valid for travelling to Great Britain documents, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 13 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Belarus, two - of Russia, two - of Moldova, one - of Latvia, one – of Belgium, one – of Kirgizstan and one – of Tajikistan.
