On Friday, December 2, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 50 offenders at external borders and within the country.

32 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:

  • entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused to 4 foreigners

at the “Grebņeva” and the “Riga” Airport Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Uzbekistan, as the information provided by foreigners on the purpose and circumstances of their stay is not reliable and there is reason to believe that foreigners will pose risks of illegal employment, and to one Ukrainian citizen, as the foreigner is prohibited from entering and staying in the territory of the Schengen States. Persons were returned to the country of departure.

  • conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area were violated by 12 foreigners

eight citizens of Uzbekistan and two citizens of Moldova were detected at the Terehova Border Control Point the “Riga” Airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (exceeding the duration of stay specified in a visa-free regime, were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits). Persons were subjected to administrative liability.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Latvia

at the „Riga” Airport” Border Control Point, two citizens of Latvia departing for London without valid travel documents required for entry into Great Britain were detected. Persons were prohibited from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for one citizen of Moldova.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 17 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - six citizens of Belarus, two - of Russia, two - of Moldova, two - of Serbia, one – of Montenegro, one – of Poland, one – of Germany, one – of Estonia and one - of Latvia.
