On Sunday, December 25, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 47 offenders at external borders and within the country.

28 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

• 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected

at the Terehova Border Control Point one citizen of Moldova, who presented to the border guards a forged Moldavian driver's license, was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for the use of forged documents. The forged documents were seized within the framework of the criminal proceedings.

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 7 foreigners

at the Grebņeva, the Terehova, the Silene and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Ukraine, one – of Moldova, one – of Russia and one – of Uzbekistan, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to two citizens of Azerbaijan, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay. Persons were returned to the country of departure.

  • conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area were violated by 3 foreigners

one  citizen of Moldova, one – of Ukraine and one – of Russia were detected at the Vientuļi, the Tereheva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in a visa, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 19 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – eight citizens of Belarus, two – of Latvia, two – of Kazakhstan, two – of Moldova, two – of Serbia, two – of Ukraine and one - of Russia.
