On Tuesday, December 27, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 49 offenders at external borders and within the country.

24 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 7 foreigners

at the Grebņeva, the Terehova and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit. Six more citizens of Russia were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. Persons were returned to the country of departure.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 citizens of Latvia

at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one minor citizen of Latvia, departing for Hurghada, who was not in possession of the second parent's notarized consent to leave the country independently, was detected; as well as at the Pāternieki Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia without valid travel document was detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 6 foreigners – three citizens of Albania, two – of Uzbekistan and one citizen of Azerbaijan.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 19 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Belarus, four – of Ukraine, three – of Latvia, two – of Russia, two – of Lithuania, two – of Kazakhstan, one – of Moldova, one – of Serbia and one – of Hungary.
