On Wednesday, December 28, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 58 offenders at external borders and within the country.
32 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 2 wanted persons were detained
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia entering Latvia from Copenhagen, who is wanted by the Police, was detected. As well as at the Silene Border Control Point one citizen of Kazakhstan entered Latvia, who is wanted by the Police, was detected. The persons were detained and handed over to the officials of the State Police.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 10 foreigners
at the Vientuļi, the Terehova and the Grebņeva Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Moldova and one – of Ukraine, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to five citizens of Moldova, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay. As well as two citizens of Russia were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. Persons were returned to the country of departure.
- conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area were violated by 2 foreigners
two citizens of Chine were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in a visa). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation of the Chinese citizens was not initiated.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one minor citizen of Latvia, departing for Hurghada, who was not in possession of
a notarized authorization or consent of at least one parent for the child to leave the country on his own. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons – three citizens of Russia and one citizen of Brazil.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 22 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Ukraine, three – of Belarus, two – of Latvia, two – of Russia, two – of Georgia, two – of Kazakhstan, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Lithuania, one – of Moldova, one – of Serbia, one – of Tajikistan and one – of Germany.
