On Friday, December 30, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 53 offenders at external borders and within the country.

  1. trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 10 foreigners

at the Vientuļi, the Terehova, the Silene, the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; to three citizens of Uzbekistan, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner banned from entry into and stay in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries. As well as three citizens of Russia and two – Ukraine were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. Persons were returned to the country of departure.

  • conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area were violated by 3 foreigners

one citizen of Uzbekistan, one – of Belarus and one – of Tajikistan were detected at the Silene and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in a visa, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). Persons were subjected to administrative liability.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 5 persons – three citizens of Uzbekistan, one – of Lithuania and one citizen of Ukraine.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 25 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – nine citizens of Belarus, four – of Russia, three – of Lithuania, two – of Latvia, two – of Kazakhstan, one – of Georgia, one – of Israel, one – of Kirgizstan, one - of Moldova and one - of Ukraine.
