On Monday, December 30, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 5388 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 26 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 46 offenders at external borders and within the country. 24 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 7 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the Pāternieki Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Russia and two – of Tajikistan as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 12 foreigners
six citizens of Uzbekistan, one - of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Ukraine, one – of China, one – of Turkey and one – of Tajikistan were detected at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by one citizen of China was not initiated, the other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for four persons - two citizens of Lithuania and two - of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 18 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Belarus, two – of Latvia, two – of Kazakhstan, two – of Kirgizstan, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Lithuania, one – of Armenia, one – of France, one – of Moldova, one – of Serbia and one – of Germany.
