On Monday, December 4, 16 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 13771 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 416 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
On December 4, officials of the State Border Guard detected 40 offenders at external borders and within the country.
26 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 10 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Serbia, one – of Kirgizstan, one – of Ukraine and one – of Belarus, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as to one citizen of Ukraine, one – of Russia and one – of Georgia, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay. Two more citizens of Ukraine and one - of Russia were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 8 foreigners
five citizens of Uzbekistan, two – of Kazakhstan and one – of Ukraine were detected at the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa or visa-free regime, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 citizens of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point two citizens of Latvia one - departing for London and another – for Bristol without valid for travelling to Great Britain documents, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for one citizen of Tajikistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 13 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Belarus, two – of Moldova, one – of Latvia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Kirgizstan and one – of Germany.
