On Monday, December 5, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 46 offenders at external borders and within the country.

17 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused to 6 foreigners

at the Grebņeva, the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Uzbekistan, as the information provided by foreigners on the purpose and circumstances of their stay is not reliable and there is reason to believe that foreigners will pose risks of illegal employment; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was  not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as to one citizen of Ukraine and two – of Russia, for security reasons. Persons were returned to the country of departure.

  • conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area were violated by 4 foreigners

three citizens of Azerbaijan and one – of Uzbekistan were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). Persons were subjected to administrative liability.

  •  exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 4 citizens of Latvia

at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, four citizens of Latvia, departing for London without valid travel documents required for entry into Great Britain, were detected. Persons were prohibited from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for two citizens of Uzbekistan.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 24 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Belarus, four of Germany, three - of Russia, two – of Ukraine, one – of Estonia, one –of Lithuania, one – of Israel, one – of Georgia, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Kirgizstan, one – of Tadzhikistan, one – of Uzbekistan, one - of Moldova and one – of Latvia.
