On Wednesday, December 7, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 45 offenders at external borders and within the country.
19 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused to 11 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the Vientuļi Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to eights citizens of Russia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; one citizen of Kazakhstan, as the foreigner has already used the authorized period of stay in the Schengen area countries; to one citizen of Ukraine (female) for security reasons. Persons were returned to the country of departure.
- conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area were violated by 4 foreigners
two citizens of Russia, one – of Sri Lanka and one – of Azerbaijan were detected at the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (exceeded the duration of stay specified in a visa, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). Persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for six foreigners – two citizens of Estonia, two – of Russia and one citizen of Great Britain and 1 – of Ukraine.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 20 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – twelve citizens of Belarus, two – of Kazakhstan, two - of Moldova, one – of Serbia, one – of Ukraine, one – of Germany and one –of Lithuania.
