On Friday, December 9, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 40 offenders at external borders and within the country.
22 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused to 6 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Ukraine, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to two citizens of Tajikistan, as the purpose of entry and stay indicated by foreigners was not reliable, and to three citizens of Russia for security reasons.
- conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area were violated by 9 foreigners
four citizens of Uzbekistan, two – of Russia, one – of Moldova, one – of Belarus and one – of Ukraine were detected at the Silene, the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (exceeded the duration of stay specified in a visa or visa-free regime, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 minor citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one minor citizen of Latvia (female) departing for London, who did not have a valid for travelling to Great Britain document was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for five foreigners – two citizens of Russia, two – of Estonia and one citizen of Lithuania.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 13 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – seven citizens of Belarus, one – of Russia, one - of Moldova, one – of Uzbekistan, one – of Ukraine, one – of Germany and one –of Latvia.
