On Saturday the 14th of April, 2018 the State Border Guard's officials detected 48 offenders at external borders and within the country.
24 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
• 1 citizen of Russia with forged documents was detained
At the Grebņeva Border Control Point 1 citizen of Russia, entered Latvia with forged driving license, was detained. The criminal proceeding were initiated for use of forged documents.
• 8 foreigners were refused entry into Latvia
At the Grebņeva Border Control Point 1 citizen of Belarus was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit. While at the Pāternieki and the "Riga" Airport Border Control Points 7 citizens of Ukraine were refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry into and stay in the Schengen zone as well as they were not in possession of sufficient means of subsistence to visit the Schengen states. The persons were returned to the exit countries.
• Violations of resident conditions committed by 5 foreigners were detected
At the Zilupe, the Pāternieki and the "Riga" Airport Border Control Points 3 citizens of Russia, 1 citizen of Tajikistan and 1 citizen of Egypt, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, exceeded the period of stay laid down in a visa), were detected. The persons were subject to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 12 persons - 5 citizens of Lithuania, 5 - of Russia and 2 - of Estonia.
For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 12 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 4 citizens of Latvia, 3 - of Belarus, 2 - of Russia, 1 - of Lithuania, 1 - of German and 1 - of Ukraine.
