On Monday the 16th of April, 2018 the State Border Guard's officials detected 34 offenders at external borders and within the country.

At the Pāternieki Border Control Point 3 citizens of Ukraine were refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry into and stay in the Schengen zone, while at the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Ukraine was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner has a ban to enter into and stay in the territory of the Schengen Area. The persons were returned to the exit country. At the Paternieki Border Control Point 1 citizen of Ukrain, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (exceeded the period of stay specified by the visa-free regime), were detected. The person was subject to administrative liability.While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 3 persons - 1 citizen of Belarus, 1 - of Estonia and 1 stateless person of Estonia.
For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 13 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 3 citizens of Latvia, 3 - of Russia, 3 - of Lithuania, 2 - of Belarus and 2 - of Uzbekistan.
