On Saturday the 20th of April, 2019 the State Border Guard's officials detected 53 offenders at external borders and within the country.
33 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
• 10 foreigners were refused entry into Latvia
At the Terehova Border Control Point 1 citizen of Russia was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit. At the Pāternieki Border Control Point 8 citizens of Ukraine were refused entry into the country, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry into and stay in the country and they were not in possession of sufficient means of subsistence to visit the Schengen states. While at the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Ukraine was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner has a ban to enter into and stay in the territory of the Schengen Area. The persons were returned to the exit countries.
• Violations of resident conditions were detected to 6 foreigners
At the Pāternieki, the Silene and the "Riga" Airport Border Control Points 3 citizens of Ukraine, 2 - of Russia and 1 - of Belarus, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (exceeded the period of stay laid down in a visa, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit), were detected. Record-keeping regarding administrative violations committed by one citizen of Russia was not commenced, as committed violation was petty, the other offenders were subject to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 7 persons - 5 citizens of Lithuania and 2 - of Russia.
For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 13 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 4 citizens of Latvia, 3 - of Lithuania, 2 - of Belarus, 1 - of Russia, 1 - of Uzbekistan, 1 - of Mongolia and 1 - of Ukraine.
