On Thursday, April 26 2018, officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia have detected 31 offenders on both external borders and within the country.
17 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
• 1 citizen of Belarus, with forged documents, was detained:
At "Terehova" Border Control Point 1 citizen of Belarus, who, during the border check, showed falsified Russian drivers licence, was detected. Criminal proceeding was initiated for the use of forged document. Personhas been placed at the State Police temporary detention center.
• residence regulation violations were detected for 2 foreigners:
At "Terehova" Border Control Point 2 citizens of Russia, who have violated residence regulations in the Schengen area (were not in a possession of valid visas or residence permits) were detected. Both persons are subject to administrative liability.
• entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused to 5 foreigners:
At "Paternieki" Border Control Point 5 citizens of Ukraine were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia, as foreigners could not justify purpose and circumstances of their travel and stay in Latvia, as well as they did not have sufficient amount of finances. Persons were returned to the country of exit.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 2 persons - 1 citizen of Russia and 1 citizen of Ukraine.
Within the framework of vehicles and vessels operation, the State Border Guard's officials detected offences committed by 12 persons - 4 citizens of Latvia, 2 citizens of Russia, 2 citizens of Belarus, 2 citizens of Ukraine, 1 citizen of Lithuania and citizen of Kyrgyz Republic.
