Events at the state border and within the country - August 04, 2018

On Saturday the 4th of August, 2018 the State Border Guard's officials detected 48 offenders at external borders and within the country.

15 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

At the Terehova Border Control Point 1 citizen of Ukraine, leaving Latvia by vehicle and presented forged Ukrainian driving license, was detained. The criminal proceedings were initiated for use of forged documents.

At the Pāternieki Border Control Point 7 citizens of Ukraine were refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry into and stay in the country, as well as they were not in possession of sufficient means of subsistence to visit the Schengen states. The persons were returned to the exit countries.

At the Zilupe Border Control Point 1 citizen of Russia, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit), was detected. Record-keeping regarding administrative violations committed by the citizen of Russia was not commenced.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 6 persons - 2 citizen of Lithuania, 2 - of Estonia, 1 - of Ukraine and 1 stateless person.

For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 27 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 8 citizens of Russia, 6 - of Latvia, 5 - of Belarus, 3 - of Lithuania, 2 - of German, 1 - of Kirgizstan, 1 - of Ukraine and 1 - of Estonia.
