On Wednesday, 8 August, officials of the State Border Guard at the external borders and within the country detected 61 offender.

At the external borders 44 offenders were detected, including:

Entry to Latvia was denied to 16 foreigners At Zilupes and Terehovas Border Control Points entry to the country was denied to 2 citizens of Russia and 1 citizen of Tajikistan as the foreigners did not have valid visa or residence permit; meanwhile at Pāternieku, Silenes and "Riga" airport Border Control Points entry to country was denied to 8 citizens of Georgia and 4 citizens of Ukraine as the foreigners were not able to justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay; the entry to Latvia was denied to 1 citizen of Israel as the foreigner had already stayed 90 days from the last period of 180 days in the territory of Schengen states. Persons were returned to the country of departure.
Breach of the stay requirements identified to 8 foreigners At Grebņevas, Silenes and "Riga" airport Border Control Points 3 citizens of Russia, 2 of USA, 2 of Belorussia and 1 of Georgia were detected who had violated residence regulations in the territory of Schengen states (did not have valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the stay period indicated in visa, exceeded period of visa-free stay). Administrative proceedings in administrative violation case were not initiated to 2 citizens of Russia, 2 citizens of USA and 1 citizen of Belorussia and 1 citizen of Russia, other persons were subjected to administrative liability.Exit from the country denied to 2 citizens of Latvia

At "Riga" airport Border Control Point detected 2 underage citizens of Latvia, who didn't have notarized consent from one of the parents for the minor to exit the country. Persons were denied to leave the country.

Immigration control measures inside the country, violations of entry or stay regulations were detected to 5 persons - 4 citizens of Lithuania and 1 of Russia.

Within the framework of vehicles and vessels operation, the State Border Guard officials subjected to administrative liability 12 persons - 4 citizens of Russia, 2 of Belorussia, 1 of Estonia, 1 of Great Britain, 1 of Uzbekistan, 1 of Kazakhstan, 1 of Lithuania and 1 of Latvia.
