Events at the state border and within the country - August 12, 2019

On Monday the 12th of August, 2019 the State Border Guard's officials detected 58 offenders at external borders and within the country.

33 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:2 persons, who are on the police wanted list, were detained

In the Port of Ventspils and the Riga Passenger Port 1 citizen of Lithuania and 1 - of Latvia, both entered from Sweden, who are on the Police wanted list were detected. The men, born in 1996 and 1990, were detained and handed over to the State Police officers.

6 foreigners were refused entry into Latvia

At the Grebņeva, the Terehova and the Pāternieki Border Control Points 4 citizens of Russia and 1 - of Belarus were refused entry into the country, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit. While at the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Russia (female) was refused entry into the country, as the foreigner has already resided on the territory of Schengen member states for 90 days within the previous 180-day period. The persons were returned to the exit countries.

Violations of resident conditions were detected to 12 foreigners

At the Pāternieki and the "Riga" Airport Border Control Points 1 citizen of Russia, 1 - of Ukraine, 1 - of Belarus, 2 - of China, 6 - of Uzbekistan and 1 - of Tajikistan, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the period of stay laid down in a visa, exceeded the period of stay of the visa-free regime), were detected. Record-keeping regarding administrative violations committed by 1 citizen of China was not commenced, the other persons were subject to administrative liability.

2 citizens of Latvia were refused exit from the country

At the Silene Border Control Point 2 minor citizens of Latvia, who were not in possession of the second parent's notarially certified authorisation for their independent travelling outside Latvia, were detected. The persons were refused exit from the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 10 persons - 4 citizens of Russia, 3 - of Azerbaijan and 3 - of Ukraine.

For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 15 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia -5 citizens of Russia, 3 - of Belarus, 3 - of Latvia, 1 - of Lithuania, 1 - of Germany, 1 - of Uzbekistan and 1 - of Ukraine.
