On Wednesday the 12th of August, 2020 the State Border Guard's officials detected 24 offenders at external borders and within the country.
14 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
• 1 foreigner was refused entry into Latvia
At the Pāternieki Border Control Point 1 citizen of Ukraine was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner did not possess valid visa or residence permit. The person was returned to the exit country.
• 2 citizens of Latvia, who are on the police wanted list, was detained
At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Lithuania (female) leaving the country for London, who is on the Police wanted list, was detected. While at the Port of Ventspils 1 citizen of Belarus entered the country by ferry from Sweden, who is on the Police wanted list, was detected. The both persons were detained and handed over to the State Police Officers.
• Violations of resident conditions were detected to 4 foreigners
At the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the "Riga" Airport Border Control Points 1 citizen of Russia, 1 - of Belarus, 1 - of Ukraine and 1 - of Georgia, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (did not possess valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the period of stay specified in the visa or visa-free regime), were detected. The persons were subject to administrative liability.
• 1 citizen of Latvia was refused exit from the country
At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Latvia, who was not in possession of valid travel document, was detected. The woman was refused exit from the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 4 persons - 2 citizens of Belarus and 2 - of Lithuania.
For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 6 persons were subjected to administrative liability (or were refused to cross the border) by officials of the State Boarder Guard - 2 citizens of Belarus, 1 - of Uzbekistan, 1 - of Georgia, 1 - of Lithuania and 1 - of Latvia.
