On Sunday the 23rd of August, 2020 the State Border Guard's officials detected 28 offenders at external borders and within the country.
19 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
• 2 citizens of Latvia, who are on the police wanted list, were detained
At the Riga Port 1 citizen of Latvia entered the country by ferry from Sweden, who is on the Police wanted list, was detected. While at the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Latvia entered the country from Edinburg, who is on the Police wanted list, was detected. The both persons were detained and handed over to the State Police Officers.
• 5 foreigners were refused entry into Latvia
At the Terehova Border Control Point 1 citizen of Turkey was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner did not possess valid visa or residence permit. While at the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of South Africa and 1 - of Ukraine were refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigners did not possess valid visa or residence permit, and 2 citizens of Belarus were refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigners have a ban to enter into and stay in the territory of the Schengen Area.
• Violations of resident conditions were detected to 3 foreigners
At "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 3 citizens of Georgia, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (exceeded the period of stay specified for the visa-free regime), were detected. All 3 persons were subject to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or
residence conditions were detected to 3 citizens of Estonia.
For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 6 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused to cross the border by officials of the State Boarder Guard - 2 citizens of Belarus, 1 - of Azerbaijan, 1 - of Russia, 1 - of the Netherlands and 1 - of Finland.
