On Wednesday the 12th of December, 2018 the State Border Guard's officials detected 31 offenders at external borders and within the country.

18 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

4 citizens of Latvia, who are on the police wanted list, were detained

At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of India, leaving Latvia for East Midland, and 2 citizens of Latvia as well as 1 citizen of Latvia leaving Riga for AbuDabi who are on the police wanted list were detected. The men, born in 1992, 1987, 1990 and 1969 were detained and handed over to the State Police officers.

7 foreigners were refused entry into Latvia

At the Pāternieki and the "Riga" Airport Border Control Points 2 citizens of Serbia were refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; 3 citizens of Ukraine were refused entry into the country, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry into and stay in the country and they were not in possession of sufficient means of subsistence to visit the Schengen states; 1 citizen of Ukraine and 1 - of Australia were refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigners have resided on the territory of Schengen member states for 90 days within the previous 180-day period. The persons were returned to the exit countries.

Violations of resident conditions were detected to 1 foreigner

At the Terehova Border Control Point 1 citizen of Moldova, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (exceeded the period of stay of the visa-free regime), was detected. The person was subject to administrative liability.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 4 citizens of Lithuania.

For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 9 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 5 citizens of Latvia, 1 - of Russia, 1 - of Lithuania, 1 - of Belarus and 1- of German.
