On Thursday the 17th of December, 2020 the State Border Guard's officials detected 48 offenders at external borders and within the country.

10 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected

At the Terehova Border Control Point 1 citizen of Rumania leaving Latvia, who presented forged Russian vehicle registration certificate, was detected. The criminal procedure was initiated for the use of forged document. Within the criminal procedure the forged document was seized.

  • 1 foreigner was refused entry into Latvia

At the Silene Border Control Point 1 citizen of Belarus was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner violated Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No. 360 "Epidemiological precautions to control the spread of Covid - 19 infection". The person was returned to the exit country.

  • Violations of resident conditions were detected to 4 foreigners

At the Grebneva Border Control Point 4 citizen of Russia, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the period of stay laid down in a visa), were detected. 3 persons were subject to administrative liability.


While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 30 persons – 9 citizens of Russia, 7 – of Lithuania, 5 – of Ukrain, 3 – of Germany, 2 – of Latvia, 1 – of Belarus, 1 – of Poland, 1 – of Kazahstan and 1 stateless person of Estonia.

For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 8 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused to cross the border by officials of the State Boarder Guard – 2 citizens of Belarus, 1 – of Kirgiztan, 1 – of Kazahstan, 1 – of Uzbekistan, 1 – of Ukrain, 1 – of Lithuania and 1 – of Latvia.
