On Saturday the 22nd of December, 2018 the State Border Guard's officials detected 46 offenders at external borders and within the country.

25 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

1 citizen of Ukraine with forged documents was detected

At the Silene Border Control Point 1 citizen of Ukraine, leaving Latvia by car, was detained for use of forged Slovakian Driving Licence. Criminal proceedings were initiated for use of forged documents.

6 foreigners were refused entry into Latvia

At the Terehova Border Control Point 1 citizen of Georgia was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit. At the Pāternieki Border Control Point 3 citizens of Ukraine were refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry into and stay in the country and they were not in possession of sufficient means of subsistence to visit the Schengen states. While at the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 2 citizens of Georgia were refused entry into the country as the foreigners have a ban to enter into and stay in the territory of the Schengen Area. The persons were returned to the exit countries.

Violations of resident conditions were detected to 11 foreigners

At the Silene, the Pāternieki and the "Riga" Airport Border Control Points 2 citizens of Russia, 5 - of Ukraine and 4 - of Israel, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (exceeded the period of stay laid down in a visa, exceeded the period of stay of the visa-free regime), were detected. Record-keeping regarding administrative violations committed by 1 citizen of Israel was not commenced, the other persons were subject to administrative liability.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 6 persons - 3 citizens of Lithuania, 2 - of Russia and 1 - of Estonia.

For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 15 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 3 citizens of Lithuania, 3 - of Latvia, 3 - of Belarus, 1 - of Estonia, 1 - of Moldova, 1 - of Bulgaria, 1 - of Kazakhstan, 1 - of Kirgizstan and 1 - of Tajikistan.
