On Wednesday the 26th of December, 2018 the State Border Guard's officials detected 26 offenders at external borders and within the country.

At the Pāternieki Border Control Point 2 citizens of Russia were refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit. While at the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 2 citizens of Ukraine and 1 - of Moldova were refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry into and stay in the country and they were not in possession of sufficient means of subsistence to visit the Schengen states. The persons were returned to the exit countries.
Violations of resident conditions were detected to 4 foreignersAt the Zilupe, the Pāternieki and the "Riga" Airport Border Control Points 2 citizens of Russia, 1 - of Ukraine and 1 - of Uzbekistan, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the period of stay of the visa-free regime), were detected. Record-keeping regarding administrative violations committed by 1 citizen of Russia was not commenced, the other persons were subject to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 7 persons - 5 citizens of Lithuania, 1 - of Estonia and 1 non-citizen of Estonia.
For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 6 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 2 citizens of Russia, 2 - of Belarus, 1 - of Lithuania and 1 - of Latvia.
