Events at the state border and within the country - December 29, 2018

On Saturday the 29th of December, 2018 the State Border Guard's officials detected 30 offenders at external borders and within the country.

15 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

At the Vientuļi, the Zilupe and the Terehova Border Control Points 3 citizens of Russia were refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit. While at the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Ukraine was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry into and stay in the country and he was not in possession of sufficient means of subsistence to visit the Schengen states. The persons were returned to the exit countries.

At the Pāternieki and the "Riga" Airport Border Control Points 4 citizens of Ukraine and 1 - of Belarus, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the period of stay laid down in a visa), were detected. The persons were subject to administrative liability.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 4 persons - 2 citizens of Lithuania, 1 - of Estonia and 1 - of Russia.

For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 11 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 4 citizens of Latvia, 3 - of Russia, 2 - of Lithuania, 1 - of Belarus and 1 - of Uzbekistan.
