Events at the state border and within the country - February 01, 2020

On Saturday the 1st of February, 2020 the State Border Guard's officials detected 33 offenders at external borders and within the country.

21 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

1 foreigner with forged documents was detected

At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Ukraine, leaving Latvia with forged Schengen border stamp in his passport, was detected. Criminal procedure was initiated for the use of forged documents. The person was placed in a State Police short-term detention facility.

2 citizens of Latvia, who are on the police wanted list, were detained

At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 2 citizens of Latvia entered from Dublin, who are on the Police wanted list, were detected. The men, born in 1995 and 1961, were detained and handed over to the State Police officers.

6 foreigners were refused entry into Latvia

At the "Riga" Airport and the Pāternieki Border Control Points 2 citizens of Ukraine and 4 - of Moldova were refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry into and stay in the country and they were not in possession of sufficient means of subsistence to visit the Schengen states. The persons were returned to the exit countries.

Violations of resident conditions were detected to 2 foreigners

At the Grebņeva and the "Riga" Airport Border Control Points 1 citizen of Russia and 1 - of Tajikistan, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the period of stay laid down in a visa), were detected. The persons were subject to administrative liability.

2 persons were refused exit from the country

At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 minor citizen of Latvia, who was not in possession of at least one parent's notarially certified agreement for her independent travelling outside Latvia, as well as 1 citizen of Lithuania, who was not in possession of valid travel document, were detected. The persons were refused exit from the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 2 citizens of Estonia.

For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 10 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused to cross the border by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 3 citizens of Latvia, 1 - of Lithuania, 1 - of Poland, 1 - of France, 1 - of Russia, 1 - Kazakhstan, 1 - of Belarus and 1 - of Uzbekistan.
