Events at the state border and within the country - February 15, 2019

On Friday the 15th of February, 2019 the State Border Guard's officials detected 40 offenders at external borders and within the country.

20 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

1 citizen of Belarus with forged documents was detected

At the Silene Border Control Point 1 citizen of Belarus, entered Latvia with a heavy vehicle, was detained for the use of forged vehicle registration certificate. The person was subject to administrative liability.

1 citizen of Latvia, who is on the police wanted list, was detained

At the Terehova Border Control Point 1 citizen of Latvia leaving the country, who is on the police wanted list, was detected. The man, born in 1961, was detained and handed over to the State Police officers.

3 foreigners were refused entry into Latvia

At the Terehova and the Pāternieki Border Control Points 1 citizen of Belarus and 1 - of Ukraine were refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit. While at the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Ukraine was refused entry into the country, as the foreigner has a ban to enter into and stay in the territory of the Schengen Area. The persons were returned to the exit countries.

Violations of resident conditions were detected to 4 foreigners

At the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the "Riga" Airport Border Control Points 2 citizens of Russia and 2 - of Ukraine, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the period of stay laid down in a visa), were detected. Record-keeping regarding administrative violations committed by 1 citizen of Russia was not commenced, the other persons were subject to administrative liability.

1 citizen of Latvia was refused exit from the country

At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Latvia (female), who was not in possession of valid travel document, was detected. The person was refused exit from the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 6 persons - 2 citizens of Lithuania, 1 - of Belarus, 1 - of India, 1 - of Russia and 1 - of Ukraine.

For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 14 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 4 citizens of Lithuania, 3 - of Belarus, 3 - of Latvia, 2 - of Estonia, 1 - of Russia and 1 - of Austria.
