On Sunday the 17th of February, 2019 the State Border Guard's officials detected 23 offenders at external borders and within the country.
14 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
7 foreigners were refused entry into LatviaAt the Silene Border Control Point 1 citizen of Russia was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit. While at the "Riga" Airport and the Pāternieki Border Control Points 1 citizen of Russia and 4 - of Ukraine were refused entry into the country, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry into and stay in the country and they were not in possession of sufficient means of subsistence to visit the Schengen states; as well as 1 citizen of Ukraine was refused entry into the country, as the foreigner has resided on the territory of Schengen member states for 90 days within the previous 180-day period. The persons were returned to the exit countries.
Violations of resident conditions were detected to 2 foreignersAt the Terehova and the Grebņeva Border Control Points 1 citizen of Russia and 1 - of Belarus, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the period of stay laid down in a visa), were detected. The persons were subject to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 4 persons - 1 citizen of Lithuania, 1 - of Estonia, 1 - of German and 1 - of Russia.
For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 5 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 2 citizens of Russia, 2 - of Lithuania and 1 - of Belarus.
