Events at the state border and within the country - February 20, 2019

On Wednesday the 20th of February, 2019 the State Border Guard's officials detected 30 offenders at external borders and within the country.

12 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

1 citizen of Latvia, who is on the police wanted list, was detained

At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Latvia entered from Doncaster, who is on the police wanted list, was detected. The man, born in 1997, was detained and handed over to the State Police officers.

1 foreigner was refused entry into Latvia

At the Pāternieki Border Control Point 1 citizen of Ukraine was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry into and stay in the country and he was not in possession of sufficient means of subsistence to visit the Schengen states. The person was returned to the exit country.

Violations of resident conditions were detected to 4 foreigners

At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 2 citizens of Russia, 1 - of USA and 1 - of China, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the period of stay laid down in a visa), were detected. Record-keeping regarding administrative violations committed by the 1 citizen of USA and 1 - of China was not commenced, the other persons were subject to administrative liability.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 4 citizens of Lithuania.

For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 14 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 4 citizens of Belarus, 4 - of Russia, 3 - of Lithuania, 2 - of Latvia and 1 - of Tajikistan.
