Events at the state border and within the country - February 25, 2020

On Tuesday the 25th of February, 2020 the State Border Guard's officials detected 22 offenders at external borders and within the country.

16 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

2 foreigners with forged documents were detected

At the Pāternieki and the Silene Border Control Points 1 citizen of Latvia, leaving Latvia by truck with trailer, with forged Lithuanian International Vehicle Insurance Policies, and 1 citizen of Ukraine, leaving the country by truck with trailer, with forged Ukrainian International Vehicle Insurance Policy, were detected. The forged documents were seized. The persons were subject to administrative liability.

7 foreigners were refused entry into Latvia

At the Terehova Border Control Point 1 citizen of Russia was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit. While at the "Riga" Airport and the Pāternieki Border Control Points 1 citizen of Azerbaijan and 4 - of Ukraine were refused entry into the country, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry into and stay in the country and they were not in possession of sufficient means of subsistence to visit the Schengen states; as well as 1 citizen of Ukraine (female) was refused entry into the country, as the foreigner has already resided on the territory of Schengen member states for 90 days within the previous 180-day period. The persons were returned to the exit countries.

Violations of resident conditions were detected to 1 foreigner

At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point1 citizen of Russia, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit), was detected. The person was subject to administrative liability.

1 citizen of Latvia was refused exit from the country

At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 minor citizen of Latvia, who was not in possession of at least one parent's notarially certified agreement for his independent travelling outside Latvia, was detected. The person was refused exit from the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 3 persons - 1 citizen of Lithuania, 1 - of Russia and 1 - of Estonia.

For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 3 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused to cross the border by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 1 citizen of Ukraine, 1 - of Latvia and 1 - of Estonia.
