Events at the state border and within the country - February 27, 2018

On Tuesday the 27th of February, 2018 the State Border Guard's officials detected 22 offenders at external borders and within the country.

10 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

At the Paternieki Border Control Point 1 citizen of Belarus was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit. While at the Silene Border Control Point 1 citizen of Russia was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigners has resided on the territory of Schengen member states for 90 days within the previous 180-day period. The persons were returned to the countries of exit.At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 3 citizens of Russia, who violated the conditions of residence (residence after expiry of residence permit indicated in visa, absence of valid visa or residence permit) in Schengen countries. Proceeding against 1 citizen of Russia has not been commenced, the other persons were subjected to administrative liability.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 6 persons - 3 citizens of Ukrain, 1 - of Lithuania, 1 - of Estonia and 1 - of Belarus.

For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 6 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 2 citizens of Ukrain, 1 - of Russia, 1 - of Lithuania, 1 - of Latvia and 1 - of Rumania
