On Thursday the 28th of February, 2019 the State Border Guard's officials detected 37 offenders at external borders and within the country.
18 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
1 citizen of Ukraine with forged documents was detainedAt the Pāternieki Border Control Point 1 Ukrainian citizen with forged Ukrainian driving license was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for use of forged documents. The man was placed into the short-term detention facilities.
1 foreigner was refused entry into LatviaAt the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Ukraine was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner has resided on the territory of Schengen member states for 90 days within the previous 180-day period. The person was returned to the exit country.
Violations of resident conditions were detected to 3 foreignersAt the Terehova and the "Riga" Airport Border Control Points 1 citizen of Kazakhstan, 1 - of India and 1 - of Russia, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the period of stay laid down in a visa), were detected. The persons were subject to administrative liability. Record-keeping regarding administrative violations committed by the citizen of India was not commenced, the other persons were subject to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 6 persons - 2 citizens of Lithuania, 2 - of Russia and 2 - of Estonia.
For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 13 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 4 citizens of Belarus, 3 - of Latvia, 3 - of Russia, 2 - of Lithuania and 1 - of Uzbekistan.
