Events at the state border and within the country - January 01, 2020

On Wednesday the 1st of January, 2020 the State Border Guard's officials detected 15 offenders at external borders and within the country.

11 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

4 foreigners were refused entry into Latvia

At the Grebņeva Border Control Point 3 citizens of Russia were refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit. While at the Pāternieki Border Control Point 1 citizen of Latvia was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document. The persons were returned to the exit countries.

Violations of resident conditions were detected to 4 foreigners

At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 2 citizens of Russia and 2 - of Ukraine, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (exceeded the period of stay laid down in a visa, exceeded the period of stay of the visa-free regime), were detected. Record-keeping regarding administrative violations committed by the citizen of Russia was not commenced, the other persons were subject to administrative liability.

For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 4 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused to cross the border by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 2 citizens of Russia, 1 - of Belarus and 1 - of Tajikistan.
