Events at the state border and within the country - January 05, 2019

On Saturday the 5th of January, 2019 the State Border Guard's officials detected 31 offenders at external borders and within the country.

13 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

1 citizen of Latvia, who is on the police wanted list, was detained

At the Vientuļi Border Control Point 1 non-citizen of Latvia, leaving Latvia, who is on the police wanted list was detected. The man, born in 1964, was detained and handed over to the State Police officers.

4 foreigners were refused entry into Latvia

At the Pāternieki and the "Riga" Airport Border Control Points 1 citizen of Russia was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; 2 citizens of Ukraine were refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry into and stay in the country and they were not in possession of sufficient means of subsistence to visit the Schengen states. While at the Zilupe Border Control Point 1 citizen of Russia (female) was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner has resided on the territory of Schengen member states for 90 days within the previous 180-day period. The persons were returned to the exit countries.

Violations of resident conditions were detected to 6 foreigners

At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 3 citizens of Russia, 2 - of Canada and 1 of Ukraine, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the period of stay laid down in a visa, exceeded the period of stay of the visa-free regime), were detected. Record-keeping regarding administrative violations committed by 3 citizens of Russia and 2 - of Canada was not commenced, the other persons were subject to administrative liability.

1 citizen of Latvia was refused exit from the country

At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 minor Latvian citizen, who was not in possession of notarially certified agreement of at least one parent for his independent travelling outside Latvia, was detected. The person was refused exit from the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 7 persons - 5 citizens of Lithuania and 2 - of Russia.

For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 11 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 4 citizens of Russia, 2 - of Moldova, 2 - of Belarus, 1 - of Lithuania, 1 - of Latvia and 1 - of Estonia.
