On Monday the 6th of January, 2020 the State Border Guard's officials detected 39 offenders at external borders and within the country.

18 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

1 foreigner with forged documents was detected

At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Ukraine, leaving Latvia, with forged border stamp in his passport, was detected. Criminal procedure was initiated for the use of forged documents. The person was placed in a temporary place of detention of the State Police.

1 citizen of Latvia, who is on the police wanted list, was detained

At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Latvia entered the country from London, who is on the Police wanted list, was detected. The man, born in 1993, was detained and handed over to the State Police officers.

2 foreigners were refused entry into Latvia

At the Grebņeva Border Control Point 1 citizen of Russia was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit. While at the Pāternieki Border Control Point 1 citizen of Ukraine was refused entry into the country, as the foreigner has already resided on the territory of Schengen member states for 90 days within the previous 180-day period. The persons were returned to the exit countries.

Violations of resident conditions were detected to 4 foreigners

At the Terehova and the "Riga" Airport Border Control Points 3 citizens of Russia and 1 - of Ukraine, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the period of stay laid down in a visa, exceeded the period of stay of the visa-free regime), were detected. Record-keeping regarding administrative violations committed by 1 citizen of Russia was not commenced, the other persons were subject to administrative liability.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 1 citizen of Lithuania.

For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 20 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused to cross the border by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 7 citizens of Belarus, 5 - of Russia, 3 - of Ukraine, 2 - of Estonia, 1 - of Latvia, 1 - of Lithuania and 1 - of Uzbekistan.
