On Sunday the 7th of January, 2018 the State Border Guard's officials detected 43 offenders at external borders and within the country.

At the Terehova Border Control Point 1 citizen of Belarus (woman) was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry into and stay in the country. While at the Silene Border Control Point 1 citizen of Russia was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner was not in possession of the compulsory health insurance policy. The persons were returned to the exit countries.At the Terehova, the Silene and the "Riga" Airport Border Control Points 5 citizens of Russia and 1 - of USA, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (exceeded the period of stay laid down in a visa), were detected. Record-keeping regarding administrative violations committed by the 4 citizens of Russia was not commenced. The other persons were subject to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 9 persons - 4 citizens of Lithuania, 2 - of Estonia, 1 - of Uzbekistan, 1 - of Estonia and 1 - of Russia.
For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 19 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 13 citizens of Russia, 1 - of Poland, 1 - of Kazakhstan, 1 - of Moldova, 1 - of Latvia, 1 - of Lithuania and 1 - of Ukraine.
