On Saturday the 12th of January, 2019 the State Border Guard's officials detected 25 offenders at external borders and within the country.

9 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

1 citizen of Iran with forged documents was detected

At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Iran, who used a forged Schengen (Latvian) visa sticker, was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for use of forged documents. The person was placed in the State Police Short Term Detention Facility.

5 foreigners were refused entry into Latvia

At the Terehova Border Control Point 1 citizen of Russia (female) was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, at the "Riga" Airport and the Pāternieki Border Control Points 3 citizens of Ukraine were refused entry into Latvia, as they could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry into and stay in the country and they were not in possession of sufficient means of subsistence to visit the Schengen states; and 1 citizen of Georgia was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner has a ban to enter into and stay in the territory of the Schengen Area. The persons were returned to the exit countries.

Violations of resident conditions were detected to 1 foreigner

At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Azerbaijan, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (exceeded the period of stay laid down in a visa), was detected. The person was subject to administrative liability.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 11 persons - 8 citizens of Lithuania, 1 - of Uzbekistan, 1 - of Estonia and 1 - of Russia.

For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 5 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 3 citizens of Latvia, 1 - of Lithuania and 1 - of Azerbaijan.
