On Thursday the 17th of January, 2019 the State Border Guard's officials detected 26 offenders at external borders and within the country.
10 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
3 citizens of Ukraine with forged documents were detectedAt the Terehova Border Control Point 2 citizens of Russia, entered Latvia with a forged Schengen (Polish) border crossing stamping, and 1 citizen of German, entered Latvia with forged Great Britain driving licence, were detected. Regarding all cases, criminal proceedings were initiated in accordance with Article 275(1) of the Criminal Law. The persons were placed in the State Police Short Term Detention Facility, while within the framework of the criminal process the forged driving licence were seized from the citizen of German.
1 foreigner was refused entry into LatviaAt the Pāternieki Border Control Point 1 citizen of Ukraine was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry into and stay in the country and they were not in possession of sufficient means of subsistence to visit the Schengen states. The persons were returned to the exit country.
Violations of resident conditions were detected to 1 citizen of RussiaAt the Zilupe Border Control Point 1 citizen of Russia, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (exceeded the period of stay laid down in a visa), was detected. The person was subject to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 4 persons - 2 citizens of Lithuania, 1 - of Uzbekistan and 1 - of Russia.
For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 12 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 5 citizens of Latvia, 4 - of Russia, 2 - of Belarus and 1 - of Lithuania.
